I don't know how much longer I can take this weather. What with Scottish summer's the past two, I haven't seen enough good weather as one should in the past 3 years. I think I will give it the rest of the month...maybe and if it doesn't improve I'll be writing soon enough from Mexico and beyond. Sun, beaches, ah.........

So yes, it's pouring down today in Banff, and it was raining yesterday as well. It's a whole lotta crap really. I hear it's nice over there in Manitoba. Happy for you! Not really but what else can I say.

Things are not too exciting here. I think I pulled a muscle in my left calf from walking the other day. About as pathetic as it gets as all I did was a little sloping walk to the Bow Falls. I need to start seriously exercising Banff Springs Hotel

. It was a pretty nice day on the Monday I had off. Walked around town along the Bow River on to the closed train and up and over to the Falls. It's quite an advantage having Monday/Tuesdays off as the town is about as quiet as it get's all week. Everyone leaves on Sunday after their weekends back to the city and work, so I get to have Banff to myself along with the locals. There was what seemed like a half-full bus of Asian tourists at the Falls all taking obligatory picture with the Falls in the background that everyone who has ever been here can attest to taking. I took a picture for this girl who was alone and she was so friendly. "Thank you very much for taking my picture, have a nice day," she said. Wow, kind of took me by surprise the outward show of appreciation for such a simple act. I can imagine that if anyone were ever having a bad day, you could just head down to Bow Falls during the summer and have praise and thanks showered down upon you for taking pictures of foreigners. Well, I'd like to think so anyway.

So I walked around the Falls and over into the Banff Springs Golf Course which is still looking a bit shabby like work hasn't even started on it yet, and then along down the river for a bit before I turned around and went back. I've got some pictures I will put up likely tomorrow after work.

Oh, another funny thing I wanted to add, though not really funny at all. We've apparently, or obvioulsy got some kind of bug going around the resort right now. There have been tons and tons of staff sick over the last two weeks with "unfavourable" symptoms, and then a few dozen people from a conference over the weekend ended up sick as well. We could rule out food poisoning as there was no real connection to point to the food as the culprit Bow Falls

. So the other day a health inspector had to come out and check out the situation. When I got to work this morning, I was informed that they think the Norwalk virus is to blame for all this crazy sickness. It's an intestinal virus. I won't go into a description, but it's not pretty. Who knows if that's it or not? Therefore we are washing our hands plenty, sanitizing and bleaching surfaces in the office so as not to spread any germs. Lovely isn't it? I and haven't been sick yet, so I really hope I don't catch it. Just got word another co-worker is sick now. Oi vey!

Work is....alright. I don't know. It's still a bit boring. Not sure what that means yet.

Banff is under total construction at the moment which is unfortunate. The whole main strip (Banff Ave.) is being ripped up to fix the water pipes and the redo the sidewalks and such to make it prettier. It's called Banff Refreshing, but not so refreshing with dust and dirt blowing around and the sound of diggers scraping away at concrete.

Yeah boring boring. I am off this Saturday and then Tuesday. Going out Saturday night with some girls I work with because one of them is leaving, but other than that no plans. I really want to rent a car some time and just go for a drive through the park and to Lake Louise or Jasper, but not until the weather makes a trip worthwhile.

Well, I am at work, not working right now so I will be off to go and do something productive. Take care everyone!! Cheers!
