Now, I must say this is getting quite ridiculous. It is snowing stupidly here at the moment. I can see maybe a few hundred meters, but that massive couple thousand ft. high mountain out there has disappeared into the white. It's almost May 1st. I demand this weather stop immediately. Do I have to leave the country again to find sunny days??

Wow, life is pretty boring at the moment. I don't have a heck of a lot to say, but I will fill you in on all the boring details of course. I am indeed at work at the moment on a Sunday morning with no work to do at all. Sure everyone likes a little time to chill when at work, but this is over the top.

It's sort of a busy weekend here at the resort with a big conference/banquet group in. I was in the kitchen last night for a few hours doing dishes. AH, there were so many dishes. Got some leftover food after though so that was nice.

Didn't do much of interest on my days off last week. Walked all over town for hours and hours just seeing where certain shops are, wandering in to a few, and what not. Took a little walk out of town along one of the hiking trails out to Vermillion Lakes. It was a half decent day so I can't complain. Trail was still a little bit wet though, but ok. Got freaked out at one point because even though it's only on the outskirts of town, you can't hear the town, and there are hardly any people. I was silent, by my mind was going about a mile a minute thinking about running in to some wild animal. I even worked myself up enough to think I saw a bear, but surely it was just some big brown bush. Right??

Appparently the bears are out in Canmore and around, so you never know. I read in the paper that they found a kill-site from a cougar just near Canmore. Kill-site being the spot where this dear was killed by the supposed 100 lbs. cougar. It left the body to come back for it, but the Parks people or whoever removed it so as not to attract the cougar again or bears for that matter either. Comforting story isn't it. It's no wonder I get scared so easily!

I also finally took the plunge and got a phone in town on the weekend. Though I hate phones, and my crappy one in Scotland was my best friend despite, I don't really care for them over here. You don't get the best rates, therefore they sucker you in to buying a 1, 2, or 3 year contract, and even then, you don't get any features so you have to get add ons. I think maybe I've just been really cheap for a really long time. So there, I now have a one-year contract and I feel so defeated!! Nevertheless, I refuse to like it. Public Enemy number 1. I'll send you the number in an email.

So I am off tomorrow and the next day which I think won't be so nice weather-wise either. Wednesday on the other hand is going to be quite nice. I guess that's just Banff weather for you. I'm also hoping to get in to Calgary sometime soon though it won't be for at least two weeks because of my schedule and funny days off. Ger, I'll let you know.

Hope it's nicer over there in Manitoba for everyone. Summer and all!! Take care and talk to you soon.
