It's been a silly few days I guess. Went out Friday night and lost my keys to where I stay, so that sucked. Got them back Sunday night which was good but unfortunate that I had to spend my two days off worrying about it. Ugh, my own fault but whatever.
Saturday was pretty good because it was gorgeous outside. I walked over to the Bow River and then walked along the path along it until I found a sort of quiet spot about 20 meters from about 7 elk who were just lazily eating some grass across the river. I sat myself down on a dead log and sat there watching them for hours. They were completely oblivious to all the people streaming by photographing them like they were on exhibition. I would have done the same but now my camera hates me. (aka not working again!) I usually get really bored sitting around doing nothing. Sun tanning bugs me because I have nothing to do while I am trying to get a tan. But I sat there for at least 3 hours just watching the elk, the people strolling past me, and reading my book. It was perfect weather. A brilliant blue sky, snow-capped mountains all around, dogs barking, the elk walking around the little meadow across the river... It was so peaceful. Magpies were flapping around cleaning themselves in the river, a little school of minnows trying desperately to swim upstream and then eventually trickling back down in the current. Big ink-black crows soaring across the sky like silk ribbons. It's amazing the little things you see when you just sit and observe. The elk ate, then rested, then got up and moved along like they were never even there.

The next day I had a bit of a later start and decided to head back to my little spot. I think I was only there for about two hours this time and the elk never showed up likely due to the heat. I even got a little sunburn amazingly. On one arm but you can't tell so much. I think there must be something a bit off with my eyes, because I like to think I have darker skin than I really do. Whereas in reality I likely have Irish white skin, but whatever. I'll work on it.

I dogged the phones entirely today at work. Not on purpose, but just because I haven't yet taken calls and that is usually the last thing I am comfortable with. I just like to know all the answers and don't like taking the chance of picking up the phone and not knowing what to do. Tomorrow will be the day. Silly but whatever. The work is alright. A bit boring....shhhhh! I wish I was working more front of house, but what can you do right? It's only been a short time stilll.

Can't think of much else to say. Might have to work 7 days straight until I get myself on the correct schedule at work but we shall see. Also might pick up some extra hours in the kitchen doing what??? Dishes. Nuts, you don't have to remind me. Whatever. I am still trying to sort stuff out until I get comfortable here.

I should run, gotta get to Safeway. TTYL.
P.S hope everyone's easter was good!
