Back in Hong Kong! Took a few days to look around this time. The flight over was actually not that bad! The first class recliners (though not the "pods") were quite comfortable and I slept most of the way! That is a first for me for such a long flight. I am hoping for a newer plane and sleepers on the way home, just to try them out.
Sunday in Hong Kong is one of the busiest days as everyone is off (most work 6 days a week) and out shopping and eating with family. I am with Nathan and Marlene again, and they took me for dim sum, which is the traditional Sunday morning breakfast here. Squid in the morning is different, and I can still taste the pork buns.
They happen to live in a condo on top of an outlet mall (Gina - is that bliss!?)...dangerous much!
Shopped in the various "downtowns" of Kowloon and TST, a bit smoggy but as I am not an elite athlete, I will not complain. The markets have tons of stuff, so do the stores...pretty much if you want it, they have it.
They took me to the area with all the aquariums, and reptiles etc. Pretty neat what people keep as pets here.
You will notice all the maids sitting around outside on Sunday, there are ovver 70,000 of them....apparently many families here have them and they tend to live with the families and are "booted out" on Sundays, so they all hang out together downtown. It was noted to me also that it is custom that the maids can get "headache pay" as part of their job...as in the lady of the house has a headache tonight....ya, you know where I am going with this.
Pics tomorrow or later today, I am just getting going to the airport for my flight to Cambodia....will update you again soon!!
