Having a great time in Larissa!
Still having troubles with the 7 hour lag, but getting better. I always had trouble keeping up with the meals and naps here. Go to work at 7:30 after a big breakfast, home at 2:30 or 3pm at the end of the day for a big lunch. Small meal at 10 pm. Nap after lunch, bed at 1 or 2 am...back up at 6:30 am. I'll get the rhythm soon enough.
Walking around on my own while everyone is at work is getting easier as I can finally read the signs phoenetically. Phew! So I am not getting lost....or at least as lost! Ha ha.
I am also in the life long habit of throwing my used toilet paper in the toilet......which is a big no no here
There is no University centred here, the closest is in Volos (going tomorrow) but the Volos Medicine Faculty is placed here. See pic. Universities are considered a "free space" for thinking and doing....which means in practicality, that police cannot enter campus property. It makes for an interesting environment when there is no law anywhere on any university property.
Anywhere there is construction you will see archeological digs pop up....everywhere you dig it seems someone was there before....its neat...for me, but I am sure must stop moving ahead with projects all the time.
Also, I am thinking the drivers are safer in Larissa than Thess/niki.....there are less of the monuments to the driving dead (my term, not theirs) on the sides of the roads.....but enough to remind you to slow down!!! I will not attempt the bike here....I am not that brave on the road.
Went for my run, in this heat I came back with chapped lips and peeling shoulders. Ouch. How did they ever do the marathon in this heat!
Anyway, its so good to be back, feels like coming home. We are off to Meteora this weekend, the pics will be great!!!
Thanks to Samir and the 10,000 songs! I would have been bored already with my original 100 tracks.
Hope you are all well at home.

Eutrophication of the Pinios River

Checking in ......
Hiya Steph! I check in on you every couple of days and am enjoying reading your posts! Greece sounds wonderful (although I'm not keen on the toilet paper issue!) and you sound very happy to be there! Good for you! All is well in the 'pasture' ... but I'd rather be there LOL!! Take care :) ~Gina
