After doing a guided tour in the previous 2 ports on our Baltic cruise, we opted to explore Helsinki on our own. It turned out to be a good decision as most attractions are in easy walking distance of each other. We started were able to see two amazing pieces of architecture in the Uspenski and Helsinki cathedrals as well as the famous "rock church" which is literally carved right out of the rocks. We walked through the pedestrian park to the daily market area where we tried the local speciality which was whole fried fish with a tasty sauce. It was delicious. The weather and the city were beautiful and June is the perfect time of year to visit. Our next stop is Stockholm.
