There is a giant NYE block party tomorrow night. In anticipation we've made reservations at Rocks on the River for dinner. We also scoped out Jazz'd Tapas Bar and Moon River Brewing Company.
Jazz'd offered a long list of delicious Martinis. Jeremy tried the "New Blues"
Martini with Gin, Blue Curacao, orange juice and Sprite. I had the
Bellini Martini which is a mixture of vodka, Champagne, and since we're
in Georgia peach schnapps and peach puree. The live jazz kept us around
for me the meatless Potato Leek Fritatta with Mango Fig Chutney. The

After Jazz'd we headed to the Moon River Brewing Company, Savannah's only local brewery. The place was packed, but we snagged a seat by the bar and tried the Wild Wacky Wit, the Captain's Porter, and a Jasmine Ale that was truly exotic. The website for Moon River claims that the place is haunted. No evidence found in support of that on this mission, however further investigation tomorrow will likely be required.
Savannah is one of the few cities in the US that allow you to openly carry your drink through town. Choosing to adhere to local custom we took a beer to go and headed out into the cold towards the hotel. By now the temperature was dropping into the 30's, but somehow our beer helped insulate us from an otherwise chilly night. A final stop on the way back was the City Market on Barnard Street. A live band was trying to stay warm while plucking the strings of
guitars, a base, and playing a violin. Later in the show the lead singer announced that his hands were freezing. With that we decided to take our last sip of beer and call it a night.
