I got up early today so I could stop by the state capitol building in Hartford, Connecticut. I wanted to make sure I beat the morning traffic into the city! I absolutely love the state capitol building here. The architecture is amazing and the detail of the building is so ornate. And thankfully there was no one here so I got to take some great pictures of the building (and for once it was not raining!!!).

I left Hartford and made my way towards Rhode Island. I stopped in Mystic, Connecticut on the way. It's a cute historic town on the water that had a lot of boats and a cute beach. There was also a bit of flooding here because of all the rain.

I made my way to Jamestown, RI. I took a few pictures of the Pell Bridge and the Bay. Then I took the bridge over into Newport (the toll used to be $1 and now it's $4!!!!) I stopped by the visitors center first (which you have to pay to park) and then I went by a few of the mansions, The Breakers, Marble House, and Rosecliff and also did The Cliff Walk. Newport is a very nice place, but you have to pay to get into every mansion and sometimes they can cost over $20 per person! I've only seen the outside of the mansions, maybe one day I can afford to go in haha. The rain caught up with me again so I left Newport and headed back towards Massachusetts. I stopped by Fall River which has a lovely church, Saint Anne's. The architecture of the building is so cool. I only got to take a few pictures before it started to rain on me again! I also tried to go by the Lizzie Borden House (the actual house that Lizzie Borden killed her family in. It's now a B&B that you can stay in), but I couldn't find it on my GPS! I left Fall River and made my way out to Cape Cod. I stayed in the Heritage House Hotel in Hyannis (it was STILL raining, but the hotel was very nice).
