So I packed up the car and drove from Kittery, Maine towards Burlington, VT. I went through New Hampshire and stopped in Concord to see the state capitol building. Then I took Hwy 89 up to Vermont. I stopped at a couple of small towns along the way (Sharon, Royalton, Northfield, and Richmond) and also stopped at the capitol, Montpelier
When I got to Burlington, I stopped at Lake Champlain first. So beautiful here! They have a riverfront walking path and a restaurant right on the lake. I drove over near downtown Burlington and parked near Church Street, which is a pedestrian-only street. It has a lot of restaurants and shops. The people here are a little weird and since the University of VT is here, there are a ton of college kids. I saw quite a few homeless people and even one kid asked me for money so they could take the bus home. I definitely wasn't impressed by Burlington. The small towns of Vermont are a whole lot better and they are what would come to mind when you think of New England. Lake Champlain was nice, but I probably wouldn't make another trip out here. I left here and drove by to see the Magic Hat Brewery. Then I made my way out of Burlington towards Connecticut. I wanted to stop by more cute little Vermont towns but the rain had caught up with me, so I just made my way down 91 South which took me straight through Springfield, MA and then into Windsor Locks, CT where I stayed the night.
