We sorta lost momentum here for some reason. I┤m not sure if it is the sheer size of the city, or the vast number of tourist activities, or the effects of so much good Malbec, or the wear of 4 months of constant travel. But we have been content to stroll around with little more interruption than the occasional stop in a cafe for wine and/or coffee.
We did venture out for a tango lesson. Tango is certainly a passion in Argentina, especially in Buenos Aires. It sorta fits the Argentinian mold, too.....despite the sensuos languid music, tango has a rather complex basic step. Argentina is still South America, but it is a different, more complex version of South America.
Another highlight of our time in BA was watching the local soccer team, the Boca Juniors. Our original intent was to see them live, which is apparently so rowdy that tourists are advised to go with a tour. But the team was out of town, playing Mexico in the much followed Liberator Cup. So we joined some enthusiastic local fans in a cafe to watch the game. It was probably subdued compared to a live game, but the restaurant crowd still drowned out the announcer┤s ĘGoooooooaaaaaaaallllllllĘ. It was a hoot, especially since Boca won 3-0.
