While a bit of snow fell that night, we did NOT have to worry about cows falling on us.
The thing about ski mountaineering is that you have to get your skis UP the mountain. This adds about 20 pounds to an already hefty pack. I would like to say that I hiked up to camp. But in fact, I shuffled - slowly - up to camp. I lacked only little tennis balls on my trekking poles to resemble a little old lady creeping along with her walker. However, we made it and the gorgeous campsite perched above the valley made it all worth it.
