, Valencia,
Thursday, June 13, 2013

We took the highway to Valencia which turned to cost 23 euro, so rather expensive. Therefore we took the national road after that, annoyingly the GPS sent us direction Alicante via the inside the country road, not the coast road. When we actually found out we were half way so we looked at the map and took the mountain road via Guadalest to the coast, a fantastic road with mountain views which we had done before partly. We arrived at 8, a bit tired after 8 and a half hours but real happy to see everybody !
The BBQ was on and we had a great meal of miammi fish and salad and spent a nice evening on the terras. They made the apartment really cosy and as they can live 80%252525 of the time outside we see how important the great big covered terras is. Nice way of living here in this temperature, it is obvious that they made the right decision to come and live here !!!

Renato's birthday
We slept on the sleeping sofa which was a real comfy bed. Zoë came to say good morning and joined us, we all kissed and cuddled because of Renato's birthday and off course he got his presents. After their breakfast Zoë had to go to school and Renato to work. We waited a bit and had breakfast with Corinne on the terras and than went to the pool.
After the pool we went to pick up Zoë at school and than Renato at work. Than we went to town to eat tapa's to celebrate Renato's birthday, which were really good. We walked on the beachfront after that and had to go back to school at 5:30 'cause Zoë had to perform in a school play. The little kids were really fun to see and Zoë did her "mountain" performance well but the older kids were a bit less interesting. We stayed there 2 hours and our bottoms hurt from the wooden chairs. After that we went back and relaxed and watched a film.

Today we were going to the beach so we got all our stuff together and went to Levante, the southern beach with the area which has been completely restored and rebuild. A perfect beach, not to busy and clear clean water.
We had a perfect day, playing in the water and the sand and later in the afternoon Mark and his family, friends of the family and Erik and Maria and kids, partners of Renato came to join us. We all stayed there until around 7 and than went to a restaurant with the whole group of about 15. After a nice dinner we got back around 12:30.

We had a good sleep and after breakfast we had to go the manage where Zoë had her weekly horse riding lesson which was fun to see. She was very brave, not scared at all fot such a little girl and she got her medal for this years course. The last days the temperature is rising and now it's getting to the summer temperatures here which is pretty hot and over 35 so we were glad to get into the shadow. We went to Polop, a little village inland where Renato and Corinne knew a small restaurant on the top of a hill next to an old little church with a beautiful view. We ate some tappa's and sat there for a couple of hours out of the sun. then we went back to the apartment and jumped in the pool where we stayed until 8. Zoë played with Andrea in the pool almost all afternoon and learned to swim a bit under water. In the evening we had a bbq dinner and we all talked until late. It was great to have these couple of days with them and it felt like a real little holiday together with them. We will come back on Thursday for a last night before driving north direction France and Italy. We will miss them, especially me, I miss my brother !!
