As soon as we arrived at Victory Monument we took the sky train to Sala Daeng and than took a Tuk Tuk as time was running out as the embassy was closing at 12, and the distances are enormous. The driver was really friendly and explained us how to get to our hotel afterwards with again the sky train and the river ferry. We got at the embassy at 11:30, so just in time to queue up to give in our request for visa with all the necessary documents, our passports and pictures. We felt good after that and we took the option of 1 day so we could get them tomorrow afternoon. (1035 bath), other options are 800 bath, 2 days, and speed which is for the same day 1350 bath. After that as explained by our Tuk Tuk driver we took the sky train at Surasak, got of at the river station Saphan Taksin and took the ferry taxi to pier 13. There it took us about 10 min to walk until our hotel. It's not bad, especially 'cause it's got a small pool and a very nice restaurant with reasonable prices and we're 10 min. from Khaosan Road which used to be a backpackers street, I remember when I first came here a long time ago, now it's still nice and full of restaurants, bars and little shops but really a bit of a tourist trap ! Anyway, ok for a couple of days if you realize it.
So we did the tour, than went back to the hotel to relax for a couple of hours and went for dinner. Talked to my mother with Facetime for a bit and went for a walk through Thanon Rambuttri which is the road before Khaosan road and slightly less noisy with more beautiful terraces, real nice at night !

Waking up slowly around 9, we must have been tired of running around, this morning we'll take it easy, have a slow breakfast and than go into town around 1 pm, as we have to get to the Myanmar embassy as well at 15:30 to pick up our passports with visa (we hope).
Back on the ferry taxi and walk a bit, and .....
Yesssss, we got it ! :-)
In the afternoon we found out that Rambuttri road is much longer than we thought, I can't remember this from 12 years ago, maybe it wasn't there. Anyway this part is much nicer so we stayed here and had something to eat. Meanwhile we bought our tickets for the floating market tomorrow morning and the tickets for the night bus to Krabi on Friday night.

Got up at 6:15, we had some yoghurt and cookies for breakfast as we had to wait for the minibus that would bring us to the floating market.
It took about 1:30 hour to get to the stop where there were also elephants. So cute !!
It was fun to be on the floating market again, Andrea had never been and she really enjoyed it. I think it has changed and more touristic but it is still nice.
After we got dropped off around 14:00 we had some lunch at a small restaurant where we had dinner last night. Pretty good, clean, fast and really cheap.
Than we walked back to the hotel, spent some time in the pool and relaxed !

As we were going to leave in the evening we had to check out and leave our luggage with the reception. We arranged to be driven around Bangkok by Tuk Tuk and see the highlights and of course have a few stops where he would get his petrol coupons. It's always great to drive around by Tuk Tuk, especially when it's hot and sticky, at least you don't feel it so much. After this we had lunch at our favorite terrace. Went back to the hotel to get organized, watched an episode of Dexter, took a shower at the pool and got dressed and we walked to the place where we had to get together for the bus.
We had to wait 45 min. and than we left for a 15 hour drive in our so cold air conditioned bus.
