3rd - 9th December 2011

Well we had a busy week.
Flight over went well, very tired by the time we arrived.  Had a good sleep, then spent the next day at
Verizon getting Internet sorted out so we can use it on our travels.  Wow, what a mission!!  Because we don't have a  USA security or I.D. number, it was difficult
to get Internet,  but finally sorted it
out.  We then got sim cards for our
phones,which was a lot easier.

Next day it was off to see our RV for the first time, we
are excited, and nervous at the same time
Hopefully it will be as nice as the pictures.  We met David Scott who has had to endure
Mikes many questions over the past year. He was pleased to finally meet these
Aussies, who had trusted him with his choice of van, and took us out the back
to see it.   It is really nice, but also
quite large.  Just thinking about Mike
driving this van with a car on the back is quite nervousing!!  (He cant even pull his hand luggage through
the airport without crashing it into things)
He has to have a driving lesson before we leave... I think he may need
it!!  We have a little Suzuki Vitara
Grande which will be attached to the back of the van, - total length of this
Rig will be about 18 metres - hmmmmm Will be interesting!!

Next few days we went to Sams club, Walmart etc and
bought all the bits and pieces for the van (kitchen stuff, towells, quilt,
pillows, BBQ, etc etc).  We had fun as it
is all very cheap in US. (we even bought pepper spray for any bears that may
try to attack us. Mike had to show his licence as proof he is over 18!!)

We then took our little car for a drive to local shop,
and while there, Mike realized it had no number plates on it, and no rego.  Great! We are going to be criminals before we
even start. I imagined being picked up by police,  Mike being flung over the bonnet of the car,
gun in his back and handcuffs slapped on
his wrists, off to jail!    He was
panicking, so we took the back roads back to the RV place.  Whew, got back without any major incident.

Thursday dad and mum arrived feeling very tired, after
leaving 30 hours prior!!  So nice to see
them. They bought over to us a beautiful book of family pictures, with all our
little kiddies and us all on various holidays. Thanks Juls for your hard work
in getting this done.  Just love
it!!  So nice to have, keep looking at
and feeling sad, we are missing them all heaps and our gap year has just
begun!!  Also a fantastic 2012 Calendar
from Andrew & Jude, with all the birthdays and dates of interest of all
that is happening back home.  So
good.   We will think of you all often.

Took dad and mum to see our van on Friday, I think they
really like it, but like me are wondering HOW Mike is going to drive this
thing. Well they will soon find our, as they will be with us when we first
drive off, hopefully on the right side of the road (well the wrong side for
us!!). Ha!

Nice that the blog is up and running. things have changed, from pulling the little 6 berth van up to the banks of the mighty Murray for Easter. Can you just imagine pulling in to Glenlock with the RV!! The inside of it looks like we could all be in there quite comfortably. Well have fun.
