So we finaly made it, Its a bit surreal now, I'm sitting at the computer in the hostel that I've been looking at on the internet for the last 4 months. We arrived into the city last night after a tiresome but fun journey from JFK last night, via a train with no driver and in the famous Subway. We could have got a taxi but decided to save some money by using public transport, even with my snowboard it wasnt too much hassle and we finally arrived at the Manhattan inn at about 8 last night (1am uk time). It was strange getting off the subway after being underground for so long and then climbing the stairs up onto the street at Penn Station and seeing all the sky scrapers, one of the first buildings we saw was the Empire State Building for some reason it didnt seem all that big, i think because all the surrounding building are all so massive as well. when you're stood at the bottom of it though you really can appreciate the scale.
We went to time square which is a bit like Leicester square in london but X10!
There's the steam coming up from the streets just like in the movies its mad!
Today we go on our cruise round the island, looking forward to that....
