The Bahamas, I went once when I was 9 ish and then again when I was 24
for a friend's wedding. Their wedding was at Sandals and I hated it.
The gross display of material wealth and waste was incomprehensible and
I ended up leaving the party in tears. Also, we went on a day trip to
Harbour Island, where there was pink beaches.



From the journal:

"OK, I'm in the Bahamas for my friend Tara's wedding. So we get here at
about 12:30 p.m. today and find out that our luggage did not arrive
with us. Sweet. Me and Brian decide to hike in from the airport so that
we don't get jipped. We just walk north until we get to a beach, any
beach. It's hot and we're still wearing pants and long sleeves when
suddenly, like an oasis in the desert comes a liquor store! We purchase
the local brew, ask the guys at the store how to find the city bus and
drink up on a random beach. Later, we finally decide to catch a bus. It
brings us righ where we wanna be and a guy we meet on the bus takes our
empties and puts them in the back of some guy's truck. He gets mad and
we go away, check in to our hotel. Funny. Later on, we go eat with
Tara, Matt, Lucy and her boyfriend."
