As much as we are loving Indonesia so far, there is no way anybody could like the Indonesian transport system. After being up at 2am to climb Mount Bromo, when we booked out ticket to Bali we were told we'd be there by 6 or 7pm, well to cut a long story short, you can imagine how we felt plodding around Kuta Beach in Bali at 1am looking for accommodation when most hotels were locked up for the night. We basically took the first place we could find and said we'd get up in the morning and look for a better place, we just wanted to sleep at this stage.
Thats exactly what we did the next morning, I went for a walk around and found a nice (but slightly expensive) hotel with a nice swimming pool and in a good location. I told them to keep me a room and went back to get Lydia and the bags. As we were both wrecked from the last two days traveling and climbing volcanoes, we spent nearly the entire day by the pool. First impressions of Bali is that is a quite modern place, full of bars, restaurants, nightclubs and surfers. It would actually remind you a bit of the Canary Islands or somewhere like that. The next couple of days went pretty much the same as that, spent the days lazing by the pool or walking on the beach, the evenings eating nice food and drinking nice drinks (Bintang is one of the best beers of the trip so far!). We knew we'd be coming back to Bali before our flight to Singapore so we just wanted to spend these 3 days relaxing and doing nothing else and thats exactly what we did - sorry for the uneventful blog entry!!!
PS - Check out the photo called Muslim Bikini!!!
