Went to Sekinoichi mochi restaurant but it was full, you should make a reservation if you want to visit on a public holiday. The food looked good but there was no bar you needed to get a table to taste the beer. http://www.sekinoichi.co.jp/
The Katsudon near the train staion with lots of raw egg, was a very disapointing alternative.

which is 30% off for public holidays and Sundays if you join their club. Great budget chain all over Japan with online reservation system.
Overall It was a good place to stay to visit Hiraizumi, Geibikei and Genbikei.
