So, today was our last day in Scotland! The day didn't begin all that great, as everyone was woken up bright and early by the peacocks outside the hotel, and we learned that the hotel shuts off their hot water during the night and hadn't turned it on early enough for anyone to have a hot shower in the morning. It was ice cold for absolutely everyone.
Our first stop of the day was at Glencoe, in the Highlands. We actually made a couple of stops in the Highlands on the drive today, just as photo opportunities. The Highlands are gorgeous, if not a little bit redundant after a couple of days. But at one of our stops, we managed to get a few group photos, which was awesome.
The next big stop of the day was Stirling, which was fairly disappointing. We didn't actually get to go to the William Wallace Memorial, which is what Katelyn was really looking forward to. We just went to Stirling Castle, which cost 9, and was a waste. It was just a boring castle. It just didn't have much to look at, somewhat like Edinburgh Castle, except not even as impressive on the outside. After our lunch there, we drove to Glasgow.
We were dropped off on this big shopping street, full of stores like Topshop and H&M and Hugo Boss and stuff like that. I was wandering around with Maria and Katelyn, and none of us really felt like doing much shopping. We went into some stores, I bought a little purse from H&M for super cheap, but we just spent most of the time in this adorable little cafe/shop eating ice cream. Yum!
We then were taken to the hotel, which is quite aways out of the city centre, where we dropped off our bags and got ready for supper. We went back into town for supper, where a group of us went to this really neat place called Hummingbird. The food was pretty good, but the atmosphere of the restaurant was so cool! They offered us use of the penthouse floor above the restaurant for the night, but we already had plans to meet up at another club with the rest of the group. I think the coolest thing about the restaurant was at the end of the meal, the come around with marshmallows on sticks, and a blowtorch and roast a marshmallow for everyone!
After the meal, we went further down the street to a club called Kushion, which was kinda swanky. The music wasn't great though, and despite the fairly cheap drinks, we didn't end up staying too long there. We did do a bit of dancing, despite the music though, and I definitely got made fun of for my lack of dancing ability!
Bridget then told us about another club about a block away that we were going to go to next, so a small group of us left for there, but the directions she'd given us were entirely wrong, so we ended up having to ask 2 different sets of cops how to get there! We got there, found out there was a 4-5 cover charge, and heard them playing like, rock music. We just wanted to dance! But some of us were tired/didn't want to pay the cover charge, so we called a cab to take us back to the hotel for the night.
