the dude who likes snakes and poisonous things brought a tree boa constrictor back to the hostel today. The tree boa is harmless and small, about 18 inches long, so i decided to hold my first snake. it was really cool feeling it slither through my fingers but a bit unsettling that he found it a few feet from our room!

other than that, today was a relaxed day of lessons, a swim in the lake, a walk to the store (in which a random horse followed me), and a walk around the lake looking for monkeys (didnt´find any). Today we mentioned that we like birding so the head of the proyecto offered to take us out birdwatching tomorrow morning at 6am. such wonderful people here. he is a plant expert but says he also knows ´90%´ of the birds at the leguna. There is another person here who is a butterfly expert and we plan to grab some of her time later this week too.

ok, i just heard that it´s time for dessert so i´m outta here!
