Holy cow - I have way too much stuff set aside to pack! I need a Sherpa to carry all this stuff. Good thing I know one, but I didn't buy Sanam a ticket on this trip!!

Anyhow, I just finished updating the address list, so with this update everyone (hopefully, if I did it correctly) will get their first notification email letting them know my blog is up and running.

Not much to tell, other than I will spend most of tomorrow morning winnowing down the piles of stuff I am going to need. Hopefully I'll have slept well and shaken off this nasty cold I've had since Christmas! Its pretty awful and I dread the 11 hour flight to Buenos Aires. Its my own personal hell - last time I flew any distance (to go visit Robbie in Prague in 2001), I stood in the airplane galley for 5 of the 7 hours flight time. I am hoping the seats aren't as cramped on a New year's eve flight. (Make that praying!)

Anyhow, I have a pile of good stuff set aside for the trip...let's see...I have a rain poncho that looks like it could stand up to a hurricane, and some nasty looking toilet seat covers (I sure hope there are toilets where I'm going, even if they are a stinky portal straight to hell), bug spray, sunscreen, hand warmers, chocolate, ahh! rubber boots! can't do without those for leaping into the icy antarctic ocean! Throw in a pile of summer, winter and all season clothes, and I'm good to go. But how to fit 24 pair of underwear in this little suitcase???

I'll leave you all thinking how Ill do that, and sign off with warm wishes to you all for a very HAPPY NEW YEAR, here's hoping 2006 is WAY better than 2005. (Which rather sucked, all things considered).

Lastly, have a look at a couple of photos of my niece Hannah, taken at Halowe'en, this past October - she cracks me up! And one shot of my Chrsitmas tree, which came down earlier today.

See ya on the flip-side!
