St Patty's and Hong Kong
Entry 17 of 17 | show all | print this entry |
We're in HOng KonG AND THIS PLACE IS FUCKING AWESOME!!!!! That is really the only way to describe it. But first, let's take a step back. Before this, we were back in Bangkok for a couple days to basically shop and relax (the second day I got an hour and a half aromatherapy massage, my legs waxed, a manicure, pedicure, and 9 step facial for exactly $35...........AWESOME), bought TONS of stuff for about $150 (amazing what that will get you in Thailand), and we also ran into 3 poeple from Saskatoon that we KNEW. What the heck hey??! We were in MBK mall (HUGE 5 builkding shopping mall) and ran into Mike Redicopp who went to Hardy and was 1 year younger than us. So we drank with them one night, and that night we ran into 2 girls that went to Bowman, Olivia Tosh and Erin, who used to hang out with Ainsley. SO WEIRD. They're like OMG..Hello...We're all in Bangkok what the heck!!! So on the 17th (St Patty's), we all went to this Irish bar that's the busiest place on Khoa San...Which is madness as it is, and met some other girls from Canada and hung out with this guy we also met from New BRunswich who looked like josh duhmal's twin (SOOOOOOOO HOT) and he liked Cammy !! LUCKY!!! SOOO HOT JESUS!! Anyways. There was a cover band playing EVERY song ever upstairs, soo sweet and so we danced the night away, drank lots of beer (which hasn't happened almsot the whole trip, usually it's like 4 drinks and then bed but it was soo nice to actually party again) and we had probbly the best St PAtty's day of our lives. The next morning we all went out for breakfast (Me, HOT BOY (Sean), Olivia, Erin, all the girls from Canada, a few guys from Ireland)...it was so nice cause they all woke up to come cause Cammy and I left that day Speaking of which, Cammy thought our plane left @ 3 which is why we were up late partying, so we get to the airport @ 1:00 and they're like umm your flight left @ 10 AM...we missed iot...but it was all good cause the had seats. But because we didn't show, they cancelled our seats HOME....... WHAT?! And had already sold them too. Somehow though after about 15 minutes, there was ANOTHER cancellation for 2 seats and we got our seats back THANK GOD same plane and everything. I almost died I actually started to hyperventilate! ANYWAY! HONG KONG Is amazing. It's everything you have ever pictured with people crowding the streeets constantly. Kind of like broadway @ the fringe, but the entire city is that packed, at all times, even midnight on a tuesday night, as we discovered. There's huge signs absolutely everywhere that are all lit up with English and Chinese writing, There's restaurants everywhere (AWESOME!!), HUGE buildings (todya we went to a 13 story shopping mall and got rid of some money), the biggest and nicest subway stations EVER (and also the most crowded). This place is FABULOUS. The people are soo nice and all speak English, the transit system is wonderful, there's constantly something to see no matter where you are (today was a shopping district and times square which had giant TV screens playing commercials and music videos everywhere). It's my favorite city on this whole trip hands down, and myabe even EVER. It's just sooooooooooooo amazing. I want to live here, I really do. I REALLY do. I took a million pictures so everyone can really understand what it looks like, and that might be the onyl way to possibly imagine it if you haven't been!! This i'm afraid will also be my last travel blog as I'm home in 2 days (I'm not sure if anyone's actually stil reading it, but I hope so cause that would be sweet ). So see you Friday night!! (WOO!!)
