Right now Cammy and I are waiting to leave to the air port cause we're flying to Brisbane, so this entry is about our last 2 days in Sydney..
Okay so a couple days ago Mike took us to Manly Beach in North Sydney which was super nice...It was cool, lots of surfers and the waves are HUGE!! So we get there and get all set up, and as soon as we sit down, there's this announcment that goes something like this:
There has been a shark spotted. Please stay out of the water.
And then all these people that are supr far in start swimming frantically and the water is empty within minutes. great, haha. I guess that doesn't happen very often, but obviously when it does everyone needs to get out. It was a confirmed spotting too, which means it was in pretty close and it wasn't some idiot making it up.
So about 15 minutes we decided to go in anyway, but just a bit. A lot of people did. I could just picture someone getting eaten...But noone did, that I'm aware of anyway...But anywho that was sweet and I got a bit of a tan thank god..I THOUGHT i was tanned before I came here but next to these ppl i'm like...transparent. But not anymore!
The next day Cammy and I went to Bondi Junction, this huge and really cool little market with allll kinds of SALES WOOOO that's my kind of shopping so I bought a sweet pink purse which is super nice of course haha for like $40 and then this cute little dress thing for $10. I love it. We wanted to find Bondi beach though, which is one of the highest ranked beaches in Australia, so we walked..and walked, and walked. For a full hour...which feels long when you think it's gunna be like 10 minutes tops. But it was sooo worth it!! Bondi's soo nice. It's FULL of people, it's huge, and there's hundreds and hundreds of surfers from all over the world doin their thing. It's also in the middle of the city, so it looks like just a beach but then you look around and there's hundreds of surf shops and restaurants, and even highrise buildings and condos about a block away
So nice. Too bad we haden't planned on going there cause we had no swimsuites or anything...mother fucker. Actually I was gunna buy one there, but a bikini top alone was goin for like $85-$100. just stupid if you ask me! And what we found out later was that Derrick (Finney) and his gf Ruth (Kost) were totally @ Bondi the same day as us! Same time, everything. SOOO ANGRY! Grrr too bad we didn't see them! Next time, yeah sure hhaha.
Oh I forgot to mention a few things:
They have soooo many spiders here, and when I was drunk I saw a cochroach and took pictures of it it's effing SICKKK!!! Also, parrots are like, normal birds here, so when I went for a walk in the neighbourhood all these parrots were just chillin, flying around. Also @ night, there were thousands of bats flying around cause they have tons!! And LOTS of spiders...I said "are any posioness" and Mike goes "Oh no!! just like 3 are deadly!" Wow, that's a relief. Ha And possums just chill out on the power lines @ night time. And they always hit kangeroo in the road like we hit deer...and they have kangaroo jerky and crocodile meat everytwhere...haven't tried it yet, but I think I will!
SORRY FOR THE ESSAY!
Hope you learned soemthing!!
Off to Brisbane, so I'll write later!
