It is Day 3 and we are headed to San Diego.

We return the rental car that morning in Escondido and head over to eat at Rubio's, known for their fish tacos. Then we head back to the Pacific Coast Hwy. to continue our trip down to San Diego.  It is slow going as we have to dodge all the beach goers, surfers and bikers. Sunny is exactly what you would expect to see. And the coastline continues to surprise us with it's beauty.

The temperatures here are amazing. Very cool at night and cool right on the ocean, but warm when you are inland in the daytime. But nothing as warm as home. Temps here today were around mid-70's.

We arrive in San Diego, amazed at all the high desert mountains and valleys we pass covered with south western houses. It is beautiful, such different terrain.  We drive over the mountain into Santee to look for some tire shine and other car stuff Art wants to buy for his new used car. We eat at the Hawaiian taco place there and head back to San Diego.

We head for Petco Stadium, home of the San Diego Padres, where we meet up with Art's niece Kelly and her husband Curtis, who have tickets for the baseball game. We enjoy a great evening with them watching the game. We enjoyed watching Cameron Maybin from Asheville on the Padres and he grew up with our  son, playing against him in little leagure for many years. Then we head back to Kelly and Curtis's house to spend the night in their cute and stylish southwestern townhouse.
