Where to begin with Cesky Krumlov?? I wanted to spend a few days here, I needed to take a break and relax and quit moving around for a little while and someone told me this was the place to do, and the hostel I was in was the hostel to relax in. 25 beds, a cozy living room, a kitchen. it was the best hostel. so cozy, like being in a home basically. and everyone just chilled out. I ended up staying 10 nights, i wasnt the only one, a couple kiwis and an american did as well. After they left, and a couple other people who were there a few days left as well, I was ready to go. funny how you hang out with people for like a week and it feels like you know them forever. anyways, for 10 days I did a lot, but also did a lot of nothing. one day me and this aussie girl rented bikes and took the train to this nice lake, took a dip in the lake to cure our hangovers and then had an interesting 3-4 hour bike ride back to cesky krumlov. a lot of uphill and very outta shape. and a little detour for a bit by accident. it was good fun. another day we rented a raft and went down the river that flowed through krumlov. another day we took the tubes down the river, another day i went to the museum. and i spent a couple days sitting in the hostel reading and playing chess, watched a couple movies and took it easy. it was nice to relax and stay in one place for longer then 3 nights, and sleep in. and i was glad i did it here. I needed to save money as well and czech is the place to do it. my hostel was like 8 euros a night, beers at the bar were never more then 1 euro a pint, it was awesome. we went out every night for beers and always met some more people to hang out with. on my way to krumlov from salzburg i met this irish guy on the bus and when we got to this other town to get on another bus to krumlov we accidently split up. i went to get money and when i came back i thought he was gone. he ended up at another hostel in krumlov meeting a guy i had met in slovakia who the next night switched to my hostel. so we all ended up meeting up with next day under weird circumstances, but it was a good time. since we were hanging out with people from a few hostels one night when we went out there was about 20 of us. there was some dutch people there we were hanging out with who left and came back in the amount of time that i was still there so we ended up hanging out with them again which was pretty cool. there were some fun bars there and i had such a good time hanging out with the people i met and doing a lot of fun things. oh i also checked out the castle one day. its such a fairy tale cute city. it almost doesnt seem real. the colours of the buildings and the natural beauty is amazing. all the green trees and flowers, its just beautiful.
