After a very uneventful flight, I finally arrived in Beijing. Happy times! After clearing customs, I caught a cab to the hostel and signed up for the Great Wall Hike tomorrow. I then went for a walk around the neighborhood. There are a lot of nice shops and restaurants in the neighborhood. I got dinner for less than $2.00 and I had enough food left over to take for lunch on the hike tomorrow. There are a lot of nice shops and restaurants in the neighborhood. The streets were busy but not packed with walkers. Walking down the street and especially crossing the street gave me some heart-stopping moments with bicycles and speeding drivers, but I survived. I'm going to bed early tonight because my hike leaves at 6:40 am. If there's one thing I absolutely have to do in China, it's to walk on the Great Wall!
