Next stop was Junagadh where we walked up Girnar hill to the temples. It was meant to be 10 000 steps but for once I was glad that the Lonely planet is an inaccurate pile of sh*t! It was only 7 000 which was such a relief, especially since we din't find out til we'd done 5 000 and thought we were only half way! We'd wanted to go to these temples last time we were in India but we never made it cos Dean got ill. When we read that newly weds go to one of them to pray for a happy marriage we decided we had to go. When we reached the top of the hill we went to the highest point and then realised that we had to go down about 1 000 and then up 1000 steps to get to the marriage temple and then come back the same way, of course we did it, our marriage being at stake, only to find that the description of the temples in the LP was wrong and that we had been at the marriage temple at the highest point!! Needless to say we r now very stiff after so much exertation in one day!
