Dean and I are stranded on an island! Luckily we decided to come to the island of Palawan first because the ferries are not very frequent so we won't miss any flights or anything but after we got here both the major ferry companies which service the island put their boats into dry docks for refurbs so now we r stuck! Its not a bad place to be stuck tho and we did find out before we got a 9 hr bus to get the ferry! There is meant to be a ferry to a nearby island on monday night so hopefully we'll leave then, spend a couple of days diving wrecks from WW2 and then fly back to Manila. From Manila we've found a really cheap flight to our next stop, its the same price as the ferry (bizzare!) and we're over the ferries! From then on its just short ferries which go a few times a day so things should be ok. if this boat doesn't go we'll have to fly out of here too but the flights r filling up quick from here and its gonna be expensive so we're playing a waiting game.

We're in El Nido a slightly bigger town and the gateway to the bacuit archipelago, a collection of stunning islands which are all jagged limestone cliffs and white sand beaches. We went out on a boat yesterday and went snorkelling, saw lots of nemos but before u get 2 jealous I did get stung by a jellyfish (not badly tho)! We had a lunch of barbecued tuna and spent the afternoon relaxing on deserted beaches. We relaxed with a beer to watch the sunset and agreed that altho we only had one day here, it was a perfect day. then we found out that our ferry was cancelled so we are stuck here, oh well! Today we got a tricycle (a motorbike with a sidecar with a roof) to a beach 4 kms away, one of the best beaches we've ever been to with calm, clear water, we walked back and decided that its not so bad being stranded after all!
