We made it to the Phillipines, Qantas were their usual rubbish selves on the way here, we got a posh card telling us all the things we would get on the flight, for example, relax and unwind time with hot chocolate or chanomile tea, except they ran out of hot choc and every meal we had they'd run out of choices (lucky for me I had my usual vegan meal instead of avegertarian one!) Happily they managed not to run out of fuel so we made it to Manila. I was worried dean would insist on lugging our packs on a local bus in the dark but we agreed on a taxi and it was all very civalised! We got a room and crashed out, glad to be back in asia. Our first day wasn't very exciting but we did go to see a big procession that happens every year from Quipo church in Manila where there is a black image of Jesus carved from ebony that is supposed to be miraculous. this year was one of the longest processions in 400 years! I'm not sure if we saw the miraculous image tho cos there were about 100 black Jesus' being carried in the parade!

Our 2nd day was not v exciting either, spent most of it getting our 3 week visa extended but we did manage to see Intramuros, the old walled city in between standing in line with the fat sweaty sex tourists. theres loads of them out here and I am fighting an urge to give them a piece of my mind every time I see an old white guy with a beautiful young Filopino girl.
