Rest Day
Best bit: Bike running well
Worst bit: A strange cheese thing that I attempted to eat for breakfast having watched the locals eat it
Collected bike today. It has had a full service, new rear hub, headset and the chain is as new. All for £20. I almost hugged the mechanic.
The place I am staying is exceptional. Everyone seems to spend most of the day sat in the lounge chatting. They are an interesting crowd so the converstation never really runs thin. And every so often the Guesthouse owner (Steve), who started his career decades ago as a Butlins boy, wonders in and does some side splitting stand up comedy. As always the friendliest places are the hardest to leave and this one will be no exception.
Tomorrow I leave the Danube and have to put aside my terrific german maps. Time to try a road map. All part of heading south to Turkey. Reckon the beach at Burgas is 3 nights away....
