Three Rest days Belgrade
Ok, it rained again on the first day (and second) but at least I was under a very large umbrella supping tea at a cafe when the rain first set in.
I will update this page properly once I have finished my stay here.
Highlights so far include:
Ice cream on tap.
Belgrade annual bike ride through the city . It was kind of fun, even when I picked up a few eccentrics on the way, especially one lady who kept spraying me with spittle when she talked! and a guy who said he was a dentist and who reminded me of the dentist in little Shop of Horrors (the crazy one who ends up getting fed to a man eating plant). Just like being back in London really...
A wander through some of the very old ruins. Apparently this city gets razed every 50 years or so....
Great hospitality from a local designer called Marianna who allowed me to stay in her house and fed me constantly. And washed my bike gear.
Visiting every bike shop in town to find a new helmet.
Everyone being extremely friendly (apart from the internet lady who has banned me from uploading photos!).
Getting lost all the time.
Getting soaked via a mini tsunami caused by a bus driving at high speed through a monster puddle.
