Poor old Slovenia didnt get a look today. I had read that the former capital of Croatia was an undisturbed gem, so with an extra flick of the pedals I hopped two borders and found myself in Varazdin. A proud city without being pompous. This was a lovely old town centre where pavement cafes serving ice cream and beer in equal measure crammed every doorway. And the sun shone the whole time.
