Last night was a heavy boozy session with colleagues from the office - it was the second of three (increasingly wilder) "leaving dos" that had been organised, and what a lot of fun it was. Therefore, waking up this morning, I should have been concentrating on my sore head and dry throat, but instead, what a strange and wonderful feeling to crawl out of bed and realise that (a) I don't have to get out of bed and (b) I don't have to be in the office again for four months. I am not bragging, of course. Simply that it was a new experience. I racked my brain to see if I'd been in this position before, and remarkably discovered I had not. No gap year between school and university to reflect upon. University holidays? had worked them all, albeit overseas. Thus the experience of having all that time infront of me seems slightly alien - but very welcome. Why on earth did I only managed to negotiate 4 months off... should have gone for the full year! Anyhow, lets hope I dont lose this buzz too quickly...
