Only days to go...

I've been focusing all my efforts on getting my unpaid leave agreed, and catching up with friends before I leave. I have been gloriously wallowing in the dream that I won't be in the office for 4 months - no more chairing meetings, no more emails, no more commuting to Croydon.
However, a new feeling is staring to creep up.... the feeling that I have foolishly told people I am going to cycle literlly hundreds and hundreds of kilometres - they seemed to believe me and were impressed - oh god - and I am going to do the trip all alone... this feeling comes along with a slight sense of PANIC!
In an instant effort to stiffen my resolve, I have hurried out and bought a one way ferry ticket to Boulogne and invested in two rather good French maps which will enable me to miss some of the nastiest hills between Boulogne and Arras. Well, that is the plan.
It would really help if I could make the time to do some long training runs and invest in improving my own physical fitness... but with all those leaving "dos" to get to... not sure its really gonna happen!
So, what next? Well, no harm I suppose in just having just one teeny more glass of wine and another cube of toblerone - after all, I am gonna burn it off... I hope... oink oink.
