The first was at the oringinal Bungee at Kawara Bridge just out of Queenstown. It was small at 43 metre high but a good one to start on! I was absolutley terrified before I jumped - I don't know whether i was shaking from the cold or coz i was so scared, but who wouldn't be - your jumping of a bridge with a rope attached to your ankles?! Its like your commiting suicide!! They count you down 5..4..3..2..1 and then you have to jump in a dive like position which i managed to hold for about 3 seconds!! I didnt realise it at the time but when watching the video back I did these, what i can only describe as chicken wing type circular actions with my arms!! hehe... But once the jump was over it was so cool, the buzz was AMAZING!
The second jump we did a couple of hours later, and was the highest at 134 metres high! You jump from this pod suspended in the middle of this valley with steep rocks either side of you!! You reach the pod via this cable car type thing, which is terrifing coz you can see just how far up you actually are!! When it was my turn i was so scared! You would have thought that after the first jump i waould be fine but no, i seemed to be worse the second time than the first!! When i wa walking out to the edge the supervisor guy behind me kept telling me to walk further towards the edge but the weight of the rope was pushing me over and i was terrified i was going to fall before i was supposed to! But i Jumped and screamed like hell as i free fell for 8.5 seconds!! It was one of the BEST jumps of all three but one of the most terrifing!! i was completley speechless (a very unique moment i would think isobel would say!) when i arrived back in the pod after being pulled back up!
