In between a LOT of sunbathing, reading, and generally doing nothing at all we did manage to fit in a couple of bits.
Spent a day at the aquarium, on a little island in the middle of the sea, where they had the usual display of turtles, sea lions dolphins and fairly unbloodthirsty sharks.
Another day spent on a friends catamaran touring the coast from another point of view, then watching numerous stunning carribean sunsets.
Finally arranged driving lessons over here. Figured that although it was a self signed death certificate, if successful it would pretty much mean Ali can drive anywhere.
First day got in the car, looked in my mirrors to check there were no suicidal motorbikes too nearby, put my hand down to change the gear and start off, and ended up nearly opening the door. Bugger. Everything is opposite. It took quite a while to change sides, especially as i quickly discovered that this was the very smallest of my problems. As mentioned Santa Marta especially is full of suicidal motorcyclists who are prepared to do absolutely anything to find the next way to kill you or themselves
More sunbathing, swimming, reading etc and then another very long cold bus ride to the country capital - Bogota.
Hope everyone is good, hasta luego!
P.S sorry that there are soo many photos of sunsets, given next stop is bogota, not sure when we will next see the sun so wanted to make the most of it. Also, figured this might take the focus off of the fact there are no photos of Ali shitting himself in the driver seat...

Iguana on the balcony!
. its a 2 person job to keep an eye on them all the time. Factor next the potholes from hell waiting every 50m to swallow you and the car to the depths of the earth, capable of turning a 6 lane road into just one passable route. After a long 5 hours or so, I was deemed ready to face the roads of Bogota. I guess thats as close as I'm gonna get to success.
