Well we are now in South Island and if we thought North island was beautiful you can just double it here. First stop was Able Tasmin the National park up north. A very scenic drive up U bendy roads taking ages in our old jalopy...but magnificent views...it really doesn't help having to stop every 10 minutes to take another photo.    The camaras are literaly smoking with the effort.

The national park meant a 3 1/2 hour walk along the coastline. To get there we had to get a water taxi ..this meant getting into the powerboad at a bus stop then it is pulled into the water by a tractor before you zoom off to the park... you do feel a bit daft wearing a life jacket whist travelling past cars and bikes on the road beside you.

The walk was beautiful all in the native undergrowth and crossing a large wobbly swinging bridge in the middle kaikora
kaikora
. I was getting a little concerned as if we were not back at the pick up point on time it would mean a further 3 hour walk... you have never seen my little legs move so fast at the end !!

From there is the start of a looooong trip down to the south. We stopped last 2 nights at Blenheim as we decided to do a wine tour there .........well what I can remember of it... the wines were very good ...in all 5 wineries.... it took us all day....and I have a bit of a headache today ........

We are currently in Kaikora on the east coast very wild and scenic  we have seen baby seals playing in a waterfall we just happened upon and then on to the seal reserve in the town. On the way back we stopped at a sheep sheering show...really funny...see attatched picture...I don't think we have quite got over yesterdays wine tasting eh ? Steve has promised me another walk tomorrow...oh goodie!!!

We have met up with so many lovely people Steve has unfortunately been persuaded to do a sky dive in Queenstown...I have aassured myself he is adequately insured!!!!!  silly boy !!!!!

well thats it for now will add more when we find another cafe or do some more stuff!!
