This morning I was planning to take the KD boat cruise from Koblenz to St. Goar. My plans changed in a hurry. I was in the washroom on the train and was getting out some money from my money belt. The train had jerked and my plane ticket had fallen into the sink. I had just finished washing my hands and the automatic taps were still on. My plane ticket was made of that thin carbon paper that doesn't like water. I tried to dry off the ticket, but no success.
A road trip to Frankfurt airport was required to replace the plane ticket. The ticket agent was a lot of help at the airport. It would take two days to confirm that I had a ticket and replace it. The hard pill to swallow was that it would cost 100 DM to replace it.
After dealing with that little problem I headed to Trier, I needed some scenery to clear my thoughts. Walked around Trier and took the train back to St. Goar.
A costly mistake, costed me a day of travel and 100DM.
