Almost forgot! I saw whales on the boat from Barra Grande to Camamu. That was a first
Itacaré was really really cool. Very little town and very touristy and lots and lots to do (or nothing, if you wish!). Place I was staying was pretty social, and the town itself is so small that you see the same people over and over, that in just a week or so, you feel like you know quite a few people here. And it is easy to take part in one of the many things to do (hike, raft, surf, kyak, 4-wheel, bike, million other tours) or just lay in the hammock out on your balcony and kick it for the day. I decided to take up surfing. Fun! I heard it was pretty hard, and it aint easy, but I was pretty impressed that I was able to actually do it. First day trying. Great feeling as you´re riding the wave in. Makes you wanna get really good at it so you can do all kinds of cool tricks and turns on massive waves. That is what I think about when I think of Itacaré. All the surfing. Will come in handy, too, I think as I go other places! Renting a board is cheap and easy. Seems like there was some sort of beach party here all the time. Very cool and laid back time here. And cheap too! Also went kyaking one day around the point and out to where a waterfall was.
I considered staying here for awhile, just because it is so comfortable, I know plenty of people, my place is rad, and I could just surf and surf every day. But then I got a little restless. Plan on going up north now. Itacaré will always be here. And actually, the weather hasn´t been all too great. (I know, I know, better than Michigan right now! But we were surfing in rain!)
