Today was very interesting. I did get to sit in the classroom and observe. I found several more differences such as, they do not serve lunch, some kids bring a snack like a sandwich or something and eat it at recess time but they do not serve a formal lunch (so the teachers don't eat either). Also, the students call the teachers by their first name instead of their last name and the teachers are called "Tutor" instead of "Maestro". The students also have religion class (Catholic religion of course) but the parents can request that their child go to an alternative where they discuss things like being a good citizen and other social topics, I guess that would be kind of like our Social Studies course. Today after school Cecy and I went to the mall, just to look around. Everything is so expensive! A pair of jeans, the lowest price we could find, was 20 euros, which doesn't sound too bad until you remember that euros are $1.50 so it would be around $30-35! Food is also expensive. The lowest Burger King meal that I saw was 5 euros (around $7!). Cecy and I have been trying to save money by making our own food and shopping at the cheaper supermarket but it is still rather expensive.
