Sunny periods 4 degrees in town Summit minus 8 - minus 15 degrees

Today we spent the day in Banff. We caught the Gondola up to the Summit, an eight minute ride above the spruce and fir trees to the summit of Sulphur Mountain. It climbed 698m to the elevation of 2282m at the Upper Terminal. At the summit The Banff Skywalk is a 1km boardwalk which leads to the Cosmic Ray Station Historic Site. Even though the temperature was only minus 15 degrees we spent a couple of hours taking in the spectacular views along this walk. Luckily there wasn't much wind and it was mostly sunny. There was snow along the boardwalk and in the trees, just beautiful! The views from the observation decks were breathtaking (as was the temperature). We had a look in the gift shop and had a hot chocolate at the mountaintop cafe. Back at the bottom we had a look at the Hot Springs (39 degrees) and then at Bow Falls on the Bow River, which was also very pretty.
