Whistler Sunny 7 degrees at 10.00am-forecast 17 Kamloops 23 degrees

We went out at about 8.15 to have another look at Whistler and to watch the skiers and snowboarders start their day on the slopes. It's a beautiful morning, sunny and doesn't feel very cold at all. We checked out at 10 and started today's drive. The road passes through some amazing scenery. To start with we stopped at Green Lake which was frozen and had a magnificent mountain backdrop. We then travelled higher and higher up winding ice bordered roads and between steep snowy mountains to Pemberton. We also stopped at Green Creek at a camping area to take some photos and at another frozen lake. After Pemberton we headed towards Lillooet and the mountains became much more rocky, rugged and very steep. We had a stop for morning tea at Roger Creek, a wide icy mountain stream. At Lillooet we stopped at Breton Reservoir Hydro Plant where there was an amazing aqua lake. The landscape was still mountainous but more open and we needed to watch for the horses grazing along the side of the road. We turned at Cache Creek for Kamloops and here the land was very dry farming land (hay making and horse ranches) with a wide fast flowing river through it. Nearer Kamloops was a huge lake and golf course. We arrived at Kamloops at about 4pm. It's a big city (5th largest in BC) with the Thompson River running through it.
