. It is also the rainy season in Jamaica so it was pouring like nobody’s business!!!! The guy at the front desk said he has a "feeling" that my bag will not come until the morning. If not at least my clothes that I wore today will be dry!!! I'm taking this minor issue in stride since I know this is only one but many and one I would prefer over others in the next couple of weeks or months! I have a since of accomplishment and pride in following my heart. I look forward to sharing my dreams, aspiration sons and knee scrapes with everyone who is inclined to peak into this adventure I've decided to embark on. Thanks again to all of you who provided guidance, strength and gave me the courage to believe in myself! Remember the only person stopping you from doing you is you. Until~

I am writing from the middle seat on my $800 buck America n Airlines ticket. Yea that’s it shit has officially hit the fan. Let’s start with how American Airlines does not like me or its customers. Upon arriving in Montego Bay Jamaica I discovered that my luggage was left in San Francisco. It’s worth noting that my flight started in San Francisco headed directly to Miami with a two hour layover before catching a connecting flight to Montego Bay
. Perhaps it because the line was way to freaking long at 10:30 p.m on a Monday night but who am I to complain when I only arrived with barely an hour and a half before my departure – I try not to lie so I’ll be honest it was less than that BUT it wasn’t my fault! I didn’t get my luggage until Wednesday at 4PM. That’s right more than 24 hours later. But I love Idle Awhile so I put on my wrap sweater and washed out my under garments! I am a trooper! I couldn’t resist buying something the next day since my under garments weren’t yet dry and we all know what wet undergarments do to a girl’s life!!!
Kyla showed up and we had a blast like no time had passed I asked her to go horseback riding with me and she accepted! I was pretty surprised that she agreed so easily. Turned out she loved it! The guys who took us were total cuties! Check out their pictures. Let’s fast forward to today June 30th. The morning started off good. I woke up at 6:40 AM in order to make sure I left the hotel in enough time to catch my flight at 11:45. The hotel told me I should be ready to go about 8 this morning in case there was traffic in Montego Bay apparently they are having some kind of construction. I didn’t ask what but Bryan was a great driver. He’s been working at Idle Awhile since I first went there 6 years ago. I wish I had a picture I would post it for your viewing pleasure
! I get to Montego Bay with more than enough time to get through. The lady at the counter made my use me use handy Trader Joes bag I brought just in case I ran out f space or needed to carry something. She told me I had a choice to either reduce my backpack weight to 50 pounds from 53 pounds or pay $50 bucks for being overweight! I asked her what they did for me when I my luggage was lost for over 24 hours! Her reply was "I’m giving you a choice you can take some of the stuff out or pay". I would soon learn that American Airlines doesn’t really care about its travelers. Upon arriving in Miami I discovered that I could not check into my flight to Quito because it had been cancelled since I did not make the first leg of my multi leg trip. My original itinerary was: New York to Miami, Miami to Quito, Quito to Santiago, and Buenos Aires to New York. Mind you these flights were on different days. Why does it matter if I don’t make the first one?!? Really American Airlines!?!? You cancelled my $1500 dollar ticket and didn’t give me any credits!! I had to get a ticket for $800 bucks! The messed up part about the whole situation is that the flight ended up taking off over an hour and a half after it was suppose to because someone had luggage on the flight that was not on the flight. The worst part is that after we took off we turned around because the cabin didn’t have any pressure! So here I am at Miami Airport at 10:15 PM!! Hold on a minute they said we could get back on the plane!!! YEA!! Okay I am back I stopped writing in order to get back on the plane and it is not 11:40 pm and we’re still at the GATE! This is so unacceptable! I think flying might be the worst part of this entire trip! I planned ahead and arrive in more than enough time to make my trip and have the rest of my shots.
Until we meet again,
June 22, 2010 it's amazing how some things how change and you can gain a new perspective. First leg of the trip Idle Awhile hotel in Negril Jamaica is an all time favorite. I am not surprised that the curry chicken was better than I remember of the bathrooms have been renovated or even the same people that I saw in September 2008 at still here and the greetings ranged from "welcome home" with a hug to "welcome back, it’s nice seeing you again". What did surprise me to no end what that /American Airlines lost my freaking bag!!! So here I am after arriving at the hotel and getting a complementary rum punch and have AWESOME curry chicken with rice and peas and a side of plantains in my "sweater wrap" because after taking a refreshing shower and perhaps a shower that was to long - something I should perhaps take into consideration both here and other countries ...I do not have any clothes!!! So although I knew I would have to wash under garments I had no idea it would be so soon. I am hoping that my clothes arrive this evening since my flight arrived at 10:30 this morning and the AA attendant said there are a couple more flights coming in today
