We've had a fabulous few last days in Whistler. The Tuesday was a beautiful clear day, and we decided to go over with the Peak-to-Peak
First Sonja:
The weather was also much better than the weekend, but still minus 10 degree Celsius. We went back to the house to build a Snowman, eat some snow... and to enjoy the hot tub (warm our toes up from the cold).
The Wednesday was cloudy and snowy - we did venture out to go down the slopes. Thursday - our last day, another fantastic day, we enjoyed the slopes (again), but this time, both of us had our biggest falls :o(. We packed the night so we could be on our way early back to LA.
This morning the alarm went off at 3:30 and we were on our way at 5am. Fortunately there wasn't too much traffic, and even though the roads were at some parts really tricky, the drive went well.
The liquid for the windscreen washer was frozen until we finally went from 4 degrees Fahrenheit (-14 degree Celsius) to 32 degree Fahrenheit ( 0 degree Celsius) after Portland - that is already 6 hours drive, and a VERY dirty windscreen! We also saw tonight that if we left yesterday that we probably wouldn't have been able to drive as far, since some of the roads were closed. Fortunately for us, by the time that we got to those stretches, they've cleaned the road from snow and ice, and it was safe to drive. After 12 hours drive we arrived at Grants Pass.
Tomorrow we are heading towards the coast, to a small town call Fort Bragg, approximately 300km north of San Francisco. Till later :o), have a wonderful day!
