Ciao a tutti!
After a quick stop off in Rome, (I'll write about it all after the 3 days there) Lisa & I finally arrived in Positano. I say finally because our train from Roma to Napoli was delayed by almost an hour & a half, then we walked around Napoli train station for about 1/2 an hour trying to find the overland train to get to Sorrento. THEN, we arrived in Sorrento & couldn't find the bus stop and had 2 minutes to get there before our bus. Made the bus (thank goodness otherwise we would have had to wait til 10pm for the next one!) and drove for about 1/2 hour to Positano (with a maniac bus driver!). We got dropped of on the main road & then had to walk 20 mins down all the snake like streets to finally find our Pensione! So we got here at 9.30pm, had dinner & went to bed!!
Carlo (who owned the Pensione) was lovely. Shame about the rest of the place really! No hot water, no air con, no tv. Definitely a 1 star place! But it has been livable. Haven't spent a lot of time in there anyway so it's ok. Well I've pretty much spent my 3 days in Positano on the beach. Not exactly what you would call a beach compared to our ones back home... the water here is beautiful. So blue & clear. You can see all the black pebbles, rocks & stones for meters! Yep, a black stone beach! Really not too bad, but just really hot under foot. But so can sand. But you can't run on these rocks, they hurt! But we have hired an umbrella, sun lounches for €7 each... an expense that really needs to be made coz you can't sit on the rocks. But it's good to get a chair & able to completely relax.
But you can't take a bad photo here. I've constantly had my camera out & it's just a beautiful place to be. Had a few nice dinners, with priceless views of the town & the beaches. We also went to a bar last night (we were going to go out on Saturday night, but it was dead! Friday night & Sunday night are the times to go out!) & there were lots of boys there, pulling in all the tourist girls! We ended up getting pulled over to a group, but sat & spoke with the girls! It was really good fun. Linda & Chiara. Linda speaks English really well, but Chiara not so much. So we all spoke 1/2 English, 1/2 Italian. Was good!
It has certainly been a great few days at the beach. And because it's a holiday place for Italians, it's also that bit more expensive! Can't wait to get back to a big city for that reason. Well, about to travel back to the hustle & bustle of Roma. Can't wait to be back in a room with air con!!! Hope everyone is well! Love to you all!! More thumbnails ...
