Early start from Ao Nang after wake up call from our lovely host lady and took the minibus via Trang to Pak Barra and from there a speedboat to kho lipe. Before getting the ferry tickets however we realised there was no ATM in Pak Barra so in order to actually pay, Emmy had to take a ride on a motorcycle with a tiny ticket lady to the nearest ATM which was 10km away. I tell u now she did not enjoy that and good thing I actually sorted our accomdation while she was gone coz don't think I would of been writing now :-)
When we arrived to kho Lipe we had another pleasent suprise as we where offered a cheaper accomodation which of course we took and got 200b back which is always good beer money. Instinctivelly we both loved the island and got a much better vibe of a chilled beach life atmosphere. During our stay we also did some snorkling around the near by islands of kho rawi, kho adang, kho hin ngan and kho jabang. Saw some scary barracudas and sea snakes, went to some isolated beaches and was fortunate to be carried on the current in the middle of the ocean on a joyride till we returned to our much loved longboat (was really scary!).
On the trip we met emma and matias from Sweden and martin from holland which made the day even better as we had quite a laugh so we also met up with them in the evening for a couple of beers on the beach.
Back at our house we started chatting to our neighbours which were a Thai couple, Pat and Nana, which were lovely and kindly or rather persistantly offered to give us a lift from Pak Barra to Hai Yat on our way to Malaysia the following morning (Thai people are really nice !). ....and of course we went straight to the travel agent git our ticket cancelled and went out for beers with our unexpected money!

oh that sounds great!
Btw the ATM prob might appear more often than you think, used to have that happening all the time in India! Before you leave a city for another one, ask where is the nearest ATM so you can plan ahead :)
