Oh yes !! The beach at last!!
First things first though ..the journey here: we left Bangkok in the evening of the 28th and after a looong 14h bus ride with random stops in the middel of nowhere with jackass in the background we finally got to krabi early in the morning of the 29th starving and slightly sleep deprived. Our resort was in Ao Nang which is a bit touristy but then again what isn't in thailand? After a well awaited full on breakfast we went straight for the beach and of course fell asleep and got our first lobster look of the trip. Nice little town but not the best place to visit if all you want is to avoid the scandinavians. However the locals are very friendly and always smiley.
To make the most of our stay in krabi we booked a snorkling trip to kho phi phi which is the near by island and is known for it's beatuful waters. Did quite alot of stops during the tour and saw alot of corals, fish and White sandy beaches! Also stopped by chicken island, small phi phi island and an amazing lagoon. All and all the tour was worth it and we had a pleasant suprise of meeting two ladies from the UK that had just left Australia so got some useful tips.
In the evening we went to our local for Phad Thai and met a quite interesting englishman that appetantly had been travelling for 10yrs!! Think you guys can imagine the stories he had to share. After that we headed into town for some shopping and after an unsuccessful quest for a night club we settled for a couple of sambouca shots and tiger beers and went straight to bed. Hey it's hard work being a traveller !

Tomorrow we are off to the islands in the southwest of thailand! Until then, bye bye=)

Colin on

Nice to hear from you!
I saw the pirates cave when I Went and couldn't beleive that people actually lived there. Of course they had the tsunami since so they might have moved out?
