I'm proud of Laura, she looks totally buff, like Linda Hamilton in Terminator II but still curvy and feminine. Its reminded me to up my game now that I'm feeling better. Cutting out a bit more sugar. Adding in a bit more water. Portions down a bit more. Not too much.
We have thoroughly enjoyed the resort and each others company, and laughed at our foibles and little things we do. The benefits of a friendship based on time, deep respect and much love.
I got up at 4.30am with Laura to see her off and snuck into her team breakfast, claiming Mascot status, which I was granted, if only I did an interpretive dance of their hike on return, and greeted them with Margaritas
Yesterday we went to the spa, which is placed above the river, with booths opening up to the river. ie. they don't need to pipe in elevator music into the spa, the sound of the river is your music. So relaxing.
I have to say the massage I had, the speciality of the place - the Anahuac massage - was the best I've ever had. The whole deal. The lady tricked my muscles into relaxing. I was a ball of sponge when I left the table.
Laura and I have done some mud monster shots of our detoxing spa - provided gratis (free) with the rooms. First you steam yourself over the hot steam coming out of the volcanic vent. Then slather yourself in mud and wait for it to dry. Then shower it off, then sit in the river water tub, the 28 degrees tub and then the 38 degrees tub.... hot hot hot. The water is piped directly from the volcanic vent, so we learned pretty early on not to put your hand in it - OUCH!
We went for a walk yesterday, up to see the other villas. The ones 'beyond our price range' and then walked beyond, out of the gated area, into the wilds
It was windy as all get out, very stark but if you turned in a certain direction it looked like a coffee commercial. Hence we dubbed our landscape 'tropical Wuthering Heights'. We were walking, admiring the view, and discussing whether the cow we saw was actually a cow or a Rhino bull... we couldn't tell, when these two black birds appeared from our far right and flew over and above us, and out of sight.
I loved them because one said "wah" and the other responded "wah".... but it kept going on and on "Wah" "Wah... "Wah"..."wah"...
We laughed because they sounded just like us two walking together at sunset, talking about this and that "wah" "wah"... "wah" "wah"... One, wah wah birds has been at my window since Laura has left this morning - like me he is missing his companion. I only hear "wah"... no responding "wah"....
Today, I was hoping to get a tour of the park but the most popular tours are horseback (I'm desperately allergic to horses), and the walking tour of the volcano wildlife, is not popular...
I think its better for my health anyone, get a spa, a wrap, another massage and enjoy the fruits of the last four months conscienciously looking after my health. This was always going to be my reward days, a time to spoil myself for all the hard work done to date.
Anyways, I know Laura is going to have a teriffic day today walking the volcano and raising money for diabetes research, I can't wait to hear the trail stories on her return.
