Back in London now in time to see my sister return from St Lucia and it was good to see my sister for the first time in a few months. Spent the day lunching at Wagamama and walking about Kensington and Knightbridge.
The next day I spent the afternoon up at Cambridge. Beautiful town, but I would recommend going in the summer as the landscape seemed that it lacked for foliage. I hired a punt ride up the Backs on the River Cam, but was disappointed when I realised that the 'student' guide/punter wasnt actually a Cambridge man! Took the punt up to Magdalene and then walked back through the town. Was a bit put off by the commercialism of some of the colleges that were charging a few pounds each to view the courtyards--but then again, if there were thousands of tourists running through my campus I would probably want to somewhat limit the people roaming through.
In the evening I went back to London to catch the Arsenal v Juventus match at Highbury. Was fortunately to be on hand to see Arsenal's finest European moment as they outclassed an excellent Italian side to take their first step into the semi-finals of the European Cup. A rowdy and loud crowd was in spirits as they ran out 2-0 winners in what is the last season at Highbury before they turn the old stadium into a bunch of condos.
