Today's hike is in the sand dunes. You take one step forward and slide half a step backwards. It's fun and a good work out for the leg mussels! There is a baby seal on the beach all alone. We wonder what happened to him sitting there in the sun. As we approach, it gets back in the water. Is he going to make it?

After a nice reading rest at the lake, we drive up to Newport to meet Bill and Rena at the Beverly Hill campground. It's a huge campground, goodness! Room enough for about 1000 people and a bit of a zoo to us preferring the small lost campground in the wild nature. There are lots and lots for big RVs, big cars and one needs to look at a map for a basic orientation.... We have a great evening in the company of Bill and Reena. I taste my first smore. Gosh, couldn't belief that so many calories can come in one dessert! I still prefer the grilled marshmallows I must confess.
